O WINSTON LINK, IS A VERY INTERESTING STORY to put it mildly (see art news etc.). He also happens to be a fantastic photographer who took great care and effort to get his photographs just the way he wanted them. In the 50s, the steam engine was being led to extinction, and Link was determined to make sure the steam engine was not totally forgotten. Boy, did he exceed in my book! Link loved the steam engine and did a brilliant job sharing his love with others by putting together a truly first class portfolio of prints. It was a pleasure, I must say, to see Winston at the opening of his show, still as rambunctious as ever, enjoying the respect that he received from his still growing legion of fans. -JOHN-
